r/UXDesign is for people working in UX to discuss research and design problems, career advancement, and the profession. Questions about finding a job and portfolio reviews will be redirected to our weekly sticked threads. Post flair is required. User flair is recommended and can be customized. Please review sub rules before posting or commenting.

The short answer

Do not advertise or solicit publicly — instead contribute helpful, non-promotional answers and use the specified weekly stickied threads or contact moderators if unsure.

What works here

  • participate in topical UX discussions
  • offer non-commercial, practical advice
  • post career/portfolio items only in the weekly stickied threads

What gets posts removed

  • promotional posts or links to products/services
  • recruiting participants, surveys, or beta testers
  • job postings, offers, or requests for paid/free work
  • invites to groups, events, or 1:1 meetings

No promotion or self-promotion

Rule 4 forbids marketing or self-promotion of products, services, tools, content behind paywalls, etc.

No recruitment or research participants

Rule 6 disallows recruiting for research, surveys, polls, usability tests, or beta testers and notes automod removal.

No job posts or requests for collaborators

Rule 5 bans job postings, requests for collaborators, and requests for free work, directing to other subs instead.

Portfolios & job-search posts limited to stickied threads

Rules 1 and 2 require personal job-search and portfolio/resume feedback to go in weekly stickied threads.

Safety concerns around invites

Rule 7 forbids inviting members to groups, events, or one-on-one meetings.
