Can you promote in r/ucla?

A community for UCLA students, faculty, alumni, and fans! Go Bruins!

The short answer

Do not mention or promote your product/company; instead answer questions as a community member and contact the moderators for prior approval if you think a post is necessary.

What works here

  • on-topic discussion about UCLA
  • helpful non-promotional answers to user questions
  • sharing UCLA resources and events

What gets posts removed

  • advertising, promotion, or attempts to monetize
  • posting surveys or soliciting users to fill them out
  • direct recruiting of customers or commercial posts

Where this comes from

View the current official rules on Reddit

No advertising or promotion

Rule explicitly bans advertising, promotion, clickbait, spam and using the subreddit for profit or monetization.

No soliciting surveys

Rule specifically prohibits soliciting users to fill out surveys (explicit vendor lead-generation method).

Topical constraint

Posts must be on-topic about UCLA or of obvious interest to UCLA community, so any outreach must be clearly serviceable to that audience and non-commercial.
