Can you promote in r/tierlists?

Tier lists give the greatest flexibility to express your ideas when ranking things over some domain. They offer many advantages over the typical 1. 2. 3. style listing, including being easier to understand and more fun! Love listing? Join our Discord community: https://discord.gg/uSWs6Q6svr

The short answer

Do not promote or mention your product/company; participate only by posting non-commercial tier-list images or helpful, non-promotional comments if directly relevant.

What works here

  • Post image-based tier lists (the required format)
  • Join community channels (e.g., Discord) via the public link in sidebar
  • Non-commercial discussion in comments related to the tier list content

What gets posts removed

  • Posting ads or soliciting customers/clients
  • Sharing links to products, sales pages, or promotional videos
  • Using comments to recruit, survey for leads, or pitch services

Where this comes from

View the current official rules on Reddit

No advertising posts rule

The rules explicitly disallow posts advertising paid products or services, so vendor/lead-generation posts would be removed.

Required post format

All content must use the tier list format and be image posts only, which prevents normal promotional post formats and external links.

No links to videos

The sidebar/rules forbid video links, reducing avenues for promotional content.

Community purpose

The subreddit focuses on creating and sharing tier lists (including examples like companies), but that does not override the explicit advertising ban.

Official rules of r/tierlists
