Small Business US is a sub for American small businesses. It focuses on coming together as a community of small businesses to create a voice. It also provides an advice forum for current small business owners. This is not a sub for those looking to start small businesses, those that are self-employed, or for anyone outside the USA. Help create a lobbying group for Small Business in America

The short answer

Participate normally and add value; if you must mention your product or recruit customers, use the Quarterly Promotion Megathread (or Monthly Hiring Megathread for jobs), clearly disclose your relationship, avoid direct DM pitches, and follow subreddit relevance rules.

What works here

  • Posting promotional offers only inside the Quarterly Promotion Megathread
  • Hiring/job posts only in the Monthly Hiring Megathread
  • Mentioning a product or service with clear disclosure when relevant
  • Asking/answering US small-business–specific, useful questions

What gets posts removed

  • Posting promo content, service offers, beta requests, surveys, affiliate/referral links, or discounts outside the Quarterly Promotion Megathread
  • DM requests, cold pitches, or ‘message me’ lead generation
  • Posting hiring/freelance offers outside the Monthly Hiring Megathread
  • Failing to disclose your connection to a recommended product/service

Promotions restricted to megathread

Business promotion, service offers, tools, newsletters, courses, surveys, beta requests, research, affiliate/referral links, and discounts must be posted in the Quarterly Promotion Megathread or are an instant ban.

Hiring restricted to hiring megathread

Hiring, job posts, freelance and contractor offers must go in the Monthly Hiring Megathread; outside posts warrant instant ban.

Disclosure required

If you mention or recommend a business, product, tool, service, agency, course, or resource you are connected to, you must disclose your relationship clearly.

No cold pitches or DM farming

Cold pitches, ‘DM me,’ affiliate spam, lead magnets, and link farming are explicitly prohibited.

Relevance to US small business required

Posts must be relevant to U.S. small business owners or U.S.-based business operations.
