Can you promote in r/shopify?

This subreddit is a forum to ask or seek any information regarding Shopify. Store owners can discuss any Shopify-specific issues. Note that this is a promotion-free sub and the rules (please read them) are very strictly enforced. Your post must be specific and unique to the Shopify platform.

The short answer

Do not promote or mention your product/company; only participate with pure, non-promotional Shopify-specific help and meet account requirements.

What works here

  • Answering Shopify-specific technical questions without self-promotion
  • Posting non-promotional, platform-specific troubleshooting or advice

What gets posts removed

  • Advertising, product or service mentions, or asking for customers
  • Posting links to products, apps, blogs, signup pages or external content
  • Soliciting DMs, offering paid/free help, app research, or developer recruitment

Where this comes from

View the current official rules on Reddit

No soliciting or promotion

Rule 4 and sidebar state no promotion, advertising, soliciting, or offers to help (even free); violations result in ban.

No links or external content

Rule 6 and submit text ban sharing links, content marketing, and external signup links.

No dev/app research or developer posts

Rule 8 explicitly forbids posts looking for pain points, beta testing, app reviews, or app validation.

Promotion-free sub emphasized

Public description and sidebar repeatedly describe this as a promotion-free subreddit and strictly enforced.

Account minimums enforced

Rule 9 requires minimum account age and karma; posts/comments are auto-removed if requirements are not met, limiting new vendor outreach.
