Can you promote in r/privacy?

Privacy in the digital age (this is not a SECURITY subreddit, and PUBLIC data, closed source, etc is off-topic)

The short answer

Do not post promotional messages or reply as a vendor; instead provide neutral, non-commercial privacy guidance and direct people to official support channels if needed.

What works here

  • General privacy discussion and education
  • Citing credible sources and news (use original titles)
  • Donations to privacy orgs (as listed)
  • High-level, non-product-specific advice about privacy tools

What gets posts removed

  • Advertising your product, service, startup, or linking to it
  • Naming, recommending, reviewing, or comparing specific VPN/proxy/crypto providers
  • Posting apps, surveys, fundraising, or solicitations without prior mod approval
  • Using sockpuppets, astroturfing, or attempting to evade filters
