Can you promote in r/originalcharacter?

The short answer

Respond helpfully and focus on value; you may briefly disclose you’re the founder or link a social only when it isn’t the post’s main purpose and you’re not soliciting payment — when in doubt, ask the mods.

What works here

  • Share socials sparingly if not the main point
  • Participate in normal discussion and give free helpful answers
  • Post offers/commission-type posts only in designated Friday threads (for offers to draw etc.)

What gets posts removed

  • Posting direct ads, commission requests, or solicitations
  • Using a reply to generate leads or push paid services
  • Posting offers outside Friday/approved threads without mod approval

Social links may be shared only if they are not the main point of the post; Discord links disallowed.

Offer posts (drawing, commissions-like offers) are allowed only on Friday; requests for others to draw OCs are not permitted outside that.
