Can you promote in r/kubernetes?
Kubernetes discussions, news, support, and link sharing.
The short answer
Be transparent about affiliation, focus on helpful technical value (how/why it matters), avoid promotional language or direct sales links, and post new tools only in the weekly thread.
What works here
- Answer questions and help with technical support
- Share articles or links with a substantive description
- Discuss projects/tools in the weekly 'new tools' thread
- Mention affiliation clearly when relevant
What gets posts removed
- Posting direct advertisements or sales links
- Announcing new tools/projects outside the weekly thread
- Low-effort or purely promotional posts (blogspam)
- Posting job listings outside monthly hiring thread
Where this comes from
View the current official rules on RedditDisclosure required for commercial posts
Posts/comments affiliated with commercial products must clearly state affiliation and provide independent value rather than a product-as-answer setup.
New tools limited to weekly thread
New tool, UI, plugin, or framework posts must be posted as a comment in the weekly 'Show off your new tools and projects' thread.
No selling/ads/spam
Spam, obvious commercial links, advertisements, and sales posts (including merchandise) are prohibited and will be removed.
Link posts need context
Link posts are allowed but must include a good description explaining topic and audience and avoid click-farming/blogspam.
Jobs restricted
Job postings/resumes must go to the monthly 'who's hiring' thread; standalone job posts will be removed.
