Can you promote in r/kickstarter?

The short answer
Only post on the allowed day with the Self-Promotion flair, meet karma and posting rules, disclose your role, focus on discussion/updates rather than soliciting backing.
What works here
- Sharing Kickstarter/IndieGogo projects on the permitted day (Fridays)
- Using Self-Promotion flair and a text post with project details
- Posting one project thread (per project) and participating in community otherwise
What gets posts removed
- Posting outside the allowed day or without the Self-Promotion flair
- Directly asking for backers or running donation/GoFundMe-style campaigns
- Multiple posts for the same project, using sock-puppet accounts, or posting if under 500 karma

Direct links to campaigns are allowed only on Fridays, so promotional replies/posts should be timed accordingly.
Self-promotion flair & post rules
Advertisements must use Self-Promotion flair; one post per project; text posts recommended for creators.
Karma requirement
Posts will be removed if account doesn't have a combined total of 500 Karma.
No direct asking for backers
Rules explicitly tell creators not to ask for backers; focus should be on discussion/updates rather than solicitation.
Ban on sock-puppet promotion
Accounts created solely to promote Kickstarter with no community engagement will be banned, so build genuine participation.
