Can you promote in r/horror?
R/HORROR, known as Dreadit by our subscribers is the premier horror entertainment community on Reddit. For more than a decade /R/HORROR has been reddit.com's gateway to all things Horror: from movies & TV, to books & games.
The short answer
Answer questions helpfully without pitching; if you must promote your product, use the weekly self-promo thread and include clear disclosure.
What works here
- Participate in normal discussion and help users with non-promotional answers
- Post self-promotion in the weekly Sunday self-promo thread
- Reference products briefly for transparency if directly relevant and not the main point
What gets posts removed
- Creating posts that promote, sell, recruit, or solicit customers outside the weekly thread
- Posting promotional links or commercial content in regular posts or comments
- Repeated posting of your product (risking spam rules and temp ban)
Where this comes from

Designated weekly thread
Self-promotion posts should be kept in the weekly thread that comes out every Sunday.
