Can you promote in r/googlecloud?

The goto subreddit for Google Cloud Platform developers and enthusiasts.

The short answer

Answer questions helpfully first, disclose your affiliation if you mention your product, avoid posting sole advertisements or sales pitches, and be prepared to engage in follow-up discussion.

What works here

  • Answering a question and mentioning your product as a helpful solution
  • Soliciting feedback on a project or blog post if you actively engage
  • Providing factual, working technical help (including code) even if using your tool

What gets posts removed

  • Posting drive-by promotional posts whose only purpose is advertising
  • Direct selling, posting job ads, vouchers, or recruiting customers
  • Link-only blog posts or surveys without active community engagement

Where this comes from

View the current official rules on Reddit

Advertising rule

Advertising of third‑party services is disallowed unless the mention is substantive and actually helps someone (no drive‑by ads).

No Selling

Explicit ban on selling products, services, vouchers, and similar offerings directly to users.

Blog Spam

Third‑party blog posts are removed unless you solicit feedback and remain engaged; avoid link‑only posts.

Surveys and Questionnaires

Surveys are not allowed unless meta‑related to the subreddit (so product market surveys are disallowed).

Sidebar guidance

Sidebar reiterates that advertising job postings, products, or software is not allowed without active discussion or problem solving.
