Can you promote in r/flipping?

The short answer

Avoid public sales pitches — engage in regular discussion neutrally, disclose your affiliation if you mention your product, and post promotional material only in the Sunday self-promotion thread or other appropriate weekly threads after participating in the community.

What works here

  • posting in the weekly Sunday self-promotion thread
  • answering relevant questions without overt promotion
  • participating in weekly themed threads (Help Me Sell This, etc.)
  • sharing non-affiliate helpful tools/resources when clearly relevant and non-promotional

What gets posts removed

  • making public posts that directly sell, solicit customers, or advertise
  • posting referral/affiliate or shortened links (banned)
  • replying to leads with a sales pitch or link outside the Sunday thread
  • posting personal/contact info or websites that reveal personal info

Self-promotion limited to weekly thread

The rules state 'No self promotion except in Sunday's thread' and point to a weekly self-promotion thread in the sidebar.

This is not a marketplace

The subreddit explicitly says 'This isn't a marketplace, so don't try to sell your stuff here' and 'This isn't a marketplace to try to sell your stuff'.

Use weekly threads for sales/help

The rules require using weekly threads (Help Me Sell This, Customer Issues, etc.) rather than making standalone sales or solicitation posts.

Affiliate/referral links prohibited

Sidebar notes Reddit automatically removes affiliate links and explicitly forbids referral links or shortened links.

No personal information/websites

Posting personal information or websites that lead to personal information is banned, limiting direct lead capture via links.
