Can you promote in r/content_marketing?

A community of content marketers helping each other improve by providing feedback, sharing advice, and resources. This is not a place to spam your blog.

The short answer

Engage organically by providing helpful, non-commercial answers; if you must mention your product or service, get mod approval first or use the designated sticky and clearly disclose your affiliation.

What works here

  • Answer questions and give feedback on content marketing topics
  • Post job listings or 'looking for freelancers' requests
  • Comment in the stickied 'Check Out My Blog Post' thread to promote a blog post
  • Request mod approval before advertising a tool or service

What gets posts removed

  • Posting direct ads, service offers, or product pitches in the subreddit
  • Posting standalone blog posts or promotional links outside the designated sticky
  • Using the subreddit as an RSS feed or repeatedly spamming links
  • Soliciting customers, leads, or surveys without prior mod permission

Where this comes from

View the current official rules on Reddit

No self-advertising

Rules state 'NO self advertisement or any DIRECT advertisement allowed' and such submissions will be deleted and may lead to a ban.

Self-promotion restrictions

Offers of services, link-exchange, or guest post opportunities are not permitted; advertising a service/tool requires contacting mods in advance with details.

Designated promotion channel

If you want to promote a blog or blog post, you must comment in the stickied 'Check Out My Blog Post' thread; self-promotion posts elsewhere will be removed.

Community focus on quality

Low-quality or spammy posts will be removed, so responses should be substantive and relevant.
