Can you promote in r/classiccars?

A place to discuss and/or post pictures of classic cars, trucks, or bikes; including hot rods, car shows and auto museums. Note - this is not for classifieds. Posts selling vehicles or vehicle parts will be removed.

The short answer

Engage organically with helpful, non-commercial comments and share photos/projects; if you mention your product/company, disclose your connection briefly and avoid any selling or links to purchase.

What works here

  • On-topic discussion about classic vehicles
  • Posting pictures of projects or cars
  • Links to non-subscription, on-topic online articles (not top pages) with moderation

What gets posts removed

  • Posting classifieds, solicitations, or items for sale
  • Linking to listings or shop pages for cars/parts
  • Repeatedly posting the same blog/magazine or promotional content
  • Using a new account with <5 comment karma to post promotional material

Where this comes from

On-topic discussion allowed

Public description and sidebar invite discussion and pictures of classic cars and projects.

Links allowed with conditions

Online magazine links allowed only if on-topic, not subscription-gated, and not selling — repeated posts from same source considered spam.

Spam/repeat-posting discouraged

Posting multiple times from same blog/magazine in a week or many images individually is treated as spam or inconsiderate.
