Can you promote in r/cfs?

For research, treatments, and personal stories regarding Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME)/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). ME/CFS is a multi-systemic neurological disease, distinct from chronic fatigue as a symptom. For more information, please see our FAQ.

The short answer

Answer helpfully first; if you’re a founder, briefly disclose affiliation and avoid links or promotional language — get moderator approval for recruiting participants or formal research posts.

What works here

  • Answering questions and giving non-promotional help
  • Honest product or tool mentions without links or overt advertising
  • Posting text summaries of content you authored provided you do not link back or refer to the source

What gets posts removed

  • Posting links to your product, blog, app, or commercial AMA
  • Soliciting participants for studies or journalism without moderator approval
  • Fundraising, affiliate links, URL shorteners, or obvious advertising

Where this comes from

View the current official rules on Reddit

No self-promotion

Rules explicitly forbid linking to self-authored blogs, apps, books, and commercial AMAs; text posts with the same content are allowed only if you don't link back or refer to your work.

No recruitment without approval

Soliciting patients for studies, research or journalism must be approved by moderators prior to posting.

Spam/review guidance

Spam is disallowed though honest product reviews are welcome; moderators give more latitude to community members, implying strict scrutiny of vendor posts.

No fundraising / link rules

Fundraising, affiliate links and URL shorteners are explicitly prohibited.
