Do not post promotional content or solicit customers; instead participate as a normal community member answering questions without mentioning or linking to your product, and use Reddit's paid ads or the subreddits listed for classifieds/jobs if appropriate.

What works here

  • general, non-promotional participation and local advice
  • use Reddit advertising for promotions
  • post in designated related subreddits (e.g., r/BostonJobs, r/BostonForSale) when appropriate

What gets posts removed

  • posting product launches, demos, or links that promote your company
  • sharing promo codes, referral links, surveys, or recruiting customers
  • posting buying/selling or for-hire offers on r/Boston

The rules ban crowdfunding, coupons, referral programs, self-affiliated business, event or service promotion, promo codes, giveaways, paid/unpaid studies, and habitually linking to personal blogs/social media.

The rules explicitly disallow posts about buying/selling goods, tickets, housing, services, or for-hire posts (includes surveys/studies).

Use Reddit ads for advertising

TL;DR directs users whose content fits advertising to use Reddit's targeted advertising system instead of posting.
