Can you promote in r/bitcoin?

Bitcoin is the currency of the Internet: a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Unlike traditional currencies such as dollars, bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. As such, it is more resistant to wild inflation and corrupt banks. With Bitcoin, you can be your own bank.

The short answer

Contribute useful, non-promotional answers first; if mentioning your product, disclose your affiliation, avoid referral links, and only post when tightly relevant or in a clearly appropriate/new-merchant context.

What works here

  • Announce a genuinely new merchant/service for Bitcoin
  • Answer questions with useful technical/helpful info about Bitcoin
  • Link to full, real URLs (no shorteners) and Bitcoin resources

What gets posts removed

  • Routine self-promotion, ads or solicitations
  • Referral links, URL shorteners, or asking for customers/donations
  • Reposting merchant announcements or off-topic/altcoin content
  • Price-ticker/style posts and begging

Begging/asking for bitcoins is absolutely not allowed and bitcoin addresses should not be posted unless requested.
