The short answer

Engage organically: provide helpful, on-topic answers first, disclose affiliation briefly if relevant, avoid links/solicitations and don’t repeat promotional posts.

What works here

  • On-topic, substantive discussion and resources related to atheism/ secular living
  • Sharing helpful tools or links when clearly relevant and not solicitous
  • Self-posts with substantial content (images must be in self/text posts)

What gets posts removed

  • Direct advertising, solicitations, or repeating promotional posts (spam)
  • Low-effort or link-only posts and posts that read like a pitch
  • Proselytizing or tying posts to commercial goals without disclosure

Where this comes from

View the current official rules on Reddit

Spam policy

Spam is disallowed and defined as frequent/commercial posting (eg. more than 1 in 10 posts), so vendor-style repeated promotion is likely to be removed or deemed spam.

No proselytizing

Proselytizing is explicitly banned; promotional messaging or solicitations that push an agenda or product could fall under this restriction or be removed.

On-topic requirement

Posts must be related to atheism/agnosticism/secular living — promotional content must therefore be directly relevant to those topics to be tolerated.

Low-effort restriction

Link-only or title-only posts are not allowed; promotional posts that lack substantive discussion will be removed.

Community welcome note

Sidebar welcomes topics related to atheism and resources, which permits helpful, relevant contributions when not promotional.
