Can you promote in r/ar15?

Welcome to r/AR15! Share your builds, ask relevant questions, play nice etc.

The short answer

Answer questions and contribute to discussions first; if mentioning your product, clearly disclose affiliation, avoid purchase links/referral codes, keep the post informational (not an ad), and stay actively engaged in the comments.

What works here

  • Answer technical questions about AR-15 builds and parts
  • Share build photos/videos with descriptive comments
  • Request or offer non-transactional help or feedback (no selling)

What gets posts removed

  • Posting glorified ads or vendor-only posts and then disappearing ('ghosting')
  • Posting purchase links, referral codes, or vendor sales offers
  • Any direct sales, WTS/WTB/WTT/ISO, or transactional posts

Where this comes from

View the current official rules on Reddit

No Spam / vendor ads discouraged

Rule explicitly forbids vendors making posts that are glorified ads or pretending to be regular consumers; vendors should not 'ghost'

No transactions / sales prohibited

Rule bans sales, WTB/WTS/WTT/ISO and states transactions are not allowed

Avoid linking to vendors / referral codes banned

Sidebar asks to avoid linking to third‑party vendors and forbids referral codes/links

Descriptive posts required

Images, videos, and links require a descriptive comment — simply posting a product image or link without context is disallowed
