Can you promote in r/algorithmictrading?

A technical subreddit where developers can discuss the nuts and bolts of algorithmic trading systems, exchange ideas, techniques, brainstorm, offer feedback, etc. Post your backtest results/equity curves, links to academic papers, and other relevant, high quality technical content. PLEASE REVIEW COMMUNITY RULES BEFORE POSTING. They are strictly enforced, violators banned. To post, your account age>90d and karma>30.

The short answer

Contribute as a technical community member first: post concise, evidence-backed technical content (backtests, code, results) without links or promotional language; if you must mention your product, keep it minimal, factual, and clearly disclosed while avoiding calls to action or solicitations.

What works here

  • Technical strategy posts with solid evidence (equity curves, metrics)
  • Academic/paper discussions and deep technical explanations
  • Concise, non-promotional mentions of tools when directly relevant

What gets posts removed

  • Marketing, product launches, webinar/paid offers, or promotional copy
  • Posting links, DMs-for-details, or asking for customers/leads
  • Engagement bait, progress reports framed as promotion

Rule prohibits 'DM me for details', engagement bait, feedback solicitation and similar behaviors used to generate leads.

High technical bar

Community prefers deep, technical posts with backtests/equity curves and concise claims supported by evidence — favors technical participation over promotion.
